“live as if you were to die tomorrow. learn as if you were to live forever.” ― mahatma gandhi

I've always been a bit of a nerd and have loved school and learning. During summer breaks I would find myself missing school and taking notes...weird, right? But being curious is a good thing, which is why I'm so excited about this great learning opportunity for the month of July!

A few days ago I was lucky enough to read a blog post about the Altitude Design Summit and how they're partnering with Bing to offer free online classes this month!

After poring over the options, I'm hoping to take DSLR 101 & How to Build and Enhance Self-Worth. While I would LOVE to be able to travel to NYC and take some classes in person and meet some awesome people, I'm super thrilled that I'll get to take any at all. Thanks Bing!

my weakness:

Chestnut brown leather handbags. Man oh man, I cannot begin to express how much I love this color leather, especially when executed in simple, vintage-inspired, clean, nearlyyy rugged/raw styles.

Enter Patricia Nash. The styles, the hardware, the details, ugh. So good.

I've been fortunate enough to snag a few of her lovely bags when they were on super super sale at Macy's, including these two:

The cross-body is my favorite. I mean, it has pen slots!
Disclaimer: Do not put little miniature pencils in the pen slots, they will not come out.

I think these styles (and color!) of bags are so timeless and versatile, I just can't get enough! Of course 99% of said bags are out of my price range, but one can never soak in enough handbag eye candy, don't you think?

in my spare time

Do you ever go on Pinterest and just search "typography" and browse and admire for longer than probably necessary? No? Just me?

I have a secret major crush on design, underlain by a slight obsession with the creative souls who can create it. I like to wonder what their creative process is, how they start a design project, and if they would maybe like to teach me their ways.

I digress.

On a recent typography jaunt around Pinterest, I found this fabulous poster of ampersands. Is it weird that I would truly love to hang this in my apartment?

art + books

These Litographs came up as a sale on Fab.com the other day, and I'm having trouble resisting buying one (or two!). I love their minimalist style and how for many of them it's not obvious at first which book it is...almost like a secret, special way to show your literature love!

The Peter Pan one may be one of my favorites, although the Alice in Wonderland and Emma ones are to die for as well!

currently coveting...

The Trina Turk collection at Banana Republic has taken up a large portion of my wish list lately. The colors, prints and simple clean lines are just too perfect and summery for words!

I certainly wouldn't object to adding any of these to my wardrobe...one can only hope they'll find their way to a sale rack for me!

oh hi

Are you ever overwhelmed by how many cool, creative and amazing things there are in the world?

Sometimes I find myself so enthralled and curious about by so many things I feel almost panicky, like I can't possibly absorb it all and that I'll miss something great.

I want to remember, learn about, and share all these happy little things I'm enthralled by, hence the start of this blog. So enjoy!
